It's Time for
Something New.

We see the same thing happen over and over again: career politicians back candidates that check all the boxes on paper, but when you look deeper, lobbyists and special interests run their campaigns.

Business-as-usual politics isn't serving us. For the young people who can't start their lives, working families drowning in bills, and seniors struggling to keep their homes, Roman is ready to shake up the status quo and deliver smart solutions which put Michigan first.

"The next generation won't fix a broken system by waiting to inherit it — we'll fix it by stepping up to change it."

Roman Gaskey grew up in Lake Orion and Oxford, attending Lake Orion Community Schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. He graduated ranked #1 in his class, was named a WXYZ Brightest & Best honoree, and became a National Merit Finalist. Roman continued to make the most of Michigan’s public education system at the University of Michigan, where he studied mathematics and data science and earned his Bachelor of Science with honors.

After completing his education, Roman joined a technology company working to improve efficiency and reduce costs in the legal sector. As a strategy and product analyst, he quality-checks products, conducts market research, and coordinates work between sales and engineering teams.

Roman is already serving his community. In 2025, he was appointed to the Oxford Downtown Development Authority Economic Vitality Committee, where he has learned firsthand how local governments use state grants and support small businesses. As a volunteer, Roman delivers Meals on Wheels in Auburn Hills and mentors two elementary school students through a local Youth Assistance program.

Roman is tired of aspiring politicians simply moving up the ladder. This isn't a steppingstone for him — he's the only candidate born and raised in this community, and he will not quit on you.

THE COMEBACK ECONOMY

COST OF LIVING

A CONTRACT
WITH SENIORS

Expand economic opportunity with deregulation, smarter investment, and a lower tax burden.

Reduce specific expenses — housing, energy, and healthcare — with smart solutions, not slogans.

Support seniors by reforming millage elections, increasing prescription medication coverage, and cutting the state property tax.

GOVERNMENT EFFICIENCY

EDUCATION

PUBLIC SAFETY

Eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse by embracing technology, improving transparency, and standing up to special interests.

Address the literacy crisis facing our kids. We need smarter spending, early intervention, and more accountability to parents.

Stand up for first responders, revive inpatient mental healthcare, and target recidivism.

Local Control.PNG

LOCAL CONTROL

Protect single-family zoning, cut unfunded mandates, and put communities over data centers.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Fund local roads, fix the grid, and crack down on endless construction.

Cost-of-Living Crisis.

Housing

We have a housing shortage — especially, attainable housing for young people and working families. To help Michigan build more efficiently and responsibly, we need better incentives for municipalities, contractors, and builders.

  • Municipalities: Increase revenue sharing to municipalities who approve attainable housing.

  • Contractors: Invest in public-private partnerships to fill the shortage of skilled contractors.

  • Builders: Streamline the permitting process and create tax incentives for the construction of attainable housing.

Energy

The Michigan Public Service Commission continues to raise rates, but our state remains slowest in the country at fixing power outages. We have to hold utilities accountable and choose our energy sources based on markets, not mandates.

  • Performance-Based Regulation: Set standards for performance improvements, and require rebates for failure to meet the mark.

  • All-of-the-Above: Repeal mandates and subsidies for high-cost energy sources, and invest in energy storage and nuclear power.

Any candidate can tell you that we're in an affordability crisis. But vague promises don't cut costs. We need innovators with fresh ideas on how to encourage competition and expand supply.

Healthcare

Southeast Michigan is undergoing rapid provider consolidation, and Michigan is unprepared. We must follow other states' leads in checking the power of local monopolies.

  • Provider-Insurer Contracts: Ban anti-steering and anti-tiering provisions which prevent insurers from directing patients toward lower-cost, high-quality care.

  • Independent Providers: Protect independent clinics from contracting practices that force patients into hospital-owned networks.

  • Price transparency: Require hospitals to publish clear prices for common procedures.

Smart Solutions

Don't Wait.
